1. Did you enjoy reading “Dying for Revenge” any more or less than you enjoyed “Sleeping with Strangers” and/or “Waking with Enemies”?
2. What did you think about Hawks? How was her character significant to this story?
3. El Matador and the Assasin with Ass had a unique marriage. Do you think that their work life affected their marriage in a negative or a positive way? Please explain.
4. Do you think the Detroit Polititian was justified for continuing to pursue Gideon? Why do you think her plan continued to be unsuccessful?
5. How do you think Robert will adjust to his new life with Catherine and Steven?
6. Are you looking forward to another sequel to the Gideon series? Why or why not?
1. I enjoyed reading Dying for Revenge (#3). I liked it better than Waking with Enemies (#2), but not as much as Sleeping with Stangers (#1). Sleeping with Strangers was the best of the three in my opinion because everything was so fresh and new.
2. I think Hawks was a woman who was trying to leave the business to have a normal life. It seems as if she had been in several failed relationships and just wanted to have her fair share of normalcy (if possible). Her character is significant to the story because it seemed as if she really thought through her jobs and if she didn’t like what she was hired to do, she would change the outcome of events to how she saw fit.
3. Their work life definitely affected their married life. El Matador felt like he couldn’t trust his wife to get the job done because she was inconsistent. She was much older than he was but he acted as if he was teaching her things about life and committment. She thought he was trying to be too controlling.
4. I do not think the Detroit Polititian was justified for continuing after Gideon. I think she should have left well enough alone. He successfully did the job that she paid him to do. She didn’t disclose all of the information which could have cost him his life and he demanded more money. She should have just given him the money and walked away. Her plan continued to fail because she failed to respect the fact that he was one of the best in his line of work.
5. I think that although Robert’s mother was killed, he will enjoy his new life with Catherine and Steven. He grew up on the streets in the red light district and saw things that even some adults hadn’t experienced. Living with Catherine and Steven will give him the chance to be a happy normal child.
6. I wouldn’t be surprised if another sequel comes out for the series. I would probably read it also. I am interested to see what happens to Hawks, Catherine and the boys, and even with Gideon and his love life.
